    Catch:  1 catfish 2 bass and several mayan cichlids for a total of 13 fish.  Ethan's 2.41 lb catfish was 3 oz away from allowing him to take home three trophies at a single event.

    Ethan was a few ounces away from going home with a huge trophy but we had a great time in beautiful Islamorada.  This was Ethan's first saltwater tournament.  He caught that fish unassisted.

    This was a tough day to fish.  There were three fish caught during the entire competition.  Ethan caught all three of them.

    This was a great start to the 2009 season.  Ethan is fishing better than ever and was really happy to win 2nd place at this event. 

     

    1-3-09 "Bass Fishing Kids" Broward County vs. Palm Brach County FINALS
    Award:  1st place team
    This was an invitation only event.  Ethan qualified as 3rd place overall for the season.  The top 10 fisherman from Broward County fished against Palm Beach County for the 2008 title.  Ethan's team won the event.  Ethan contributed 2 bass to the Broward County total of 29 bass, 27.21 lbs.  Palm Beach County had a total of 15 bass, 11.38 lbs.  Checkout how small Ethan is compared to those other kids.

    Award:  3rd place overall for the season
     
    Ethan was 3rd place for Angler of the Year in the 4-12 yr old division.  This earned him a spot in both the Bass Fishing Kids finals and the Bass Fishing Kids Broward County vs. Palm Beach County Team Finals.   Ethan is shown here with his two 2nd place and one third place medal earned during the 2008 season with Bass Fishing Kids.

    "Bass Fishing Kids" FINALS at Tradewinds Park
     
    This was an invitation only event.  Ethan qualified because he was 3rd place overall for the season. 
     
    Ethan caught 4 bass up to 2lbs each, but it was only good enough for 6th place.  But that's 6th place in the FINALS, against kids up to 16yrs old.

     

     

    ETHAN ROGGE

    11-15-08 Ethan Rogge is the 2008 Champion of the Bass Pro Shops Kids Fishing Tournament Series.  This was Ethan's best day of fishing ever in his entire life.  He caught 8 huge bass, landing his first three before anyone else caught their first.  All the fish were huge, from 2 lbs each to over 3.5 lbs each.  He caught largemouth bass and butterfly peacock bass.  He was awarded 1st place for the 2008 season and given a $50 gift card.  He has also been promised a plaque and photo to be displayed inside the lobby of the store.  But most notably, he is the CHAMPION for 2008.

    Ethan did great.  This tournament qualified him to fish in the Bass Pro Shops kids fishing finals later in the year.

    Catch:  33 bream
     
    Ethan did amazing at this tournament.  He caught 33 bluegill fish, more than all the other kids combined.  Ethan was catching fish so quickly it was hard to keep up with taking them off the hook.  33 fish in under 90 minutes.

    "Bass Fishing Kids" tournament at Quiet Waters Park
     
    Award:  3rd place medal
    Catch:  .85 lb bass
     
    Ethan did great at this tournament.  He caught two bass, the largest of which was .85 lbs shown in the photos.

    "Parkland Fishing Derby"
    Award:  1st place trophy
    Catch:  5 catfish, 2 lbs each
    Ethan did AMAZING at this tournament.  He caught 5 catfish that were 2lbs each.  Each were the biggest of the tournament.  He screamed when they announced him as the winner.

    Ethan did great at this tournament.

    This was Ethan's first fishing tournament ever. 
    We won 2nd place in this tournament when he was still only 4 years old.
     

     

    Ethan's excited after winning a fishing rod at the Florida Sportsman Fishing Show.  The show featured a kids casting pond where kids can compete for prizes.  Ethan did a great job and came home with another great Zebco fishing rod.

     

     

     

     

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has issued Ethan with numerous "Big Catch" certificates.  Whenever an angler documents catching a fish above a certain weight a certificate is issued.
